It seems like January has truly flown by. I must say I wish I had done better on my monthly goals but at least I have made some progress in working toward my goals for the year.
My January Tending List from my We Craft night with Aleyah and McKinley to February 1 because we didn’t have Johnnie’s new schedule at the fire station in time for he and Kay-Cee to plan a date night.
I planned my January budget and pretty much stuck with it. I also decluttered my pantry which makes me feel better every time I open the doors.
I have researched some books and podcasts that I would like to read and listen to but I would definitely welcome suggestions! So, if you have any you love please comment below with your suggestions.
Now, onto Weekly items. Exercising 4 times per week did not happen. I didn’t even get to it once. I need to make this more of a priority for sure. After hearing a guest on one of my podcasts talking about how she takes an afternoon walk every day after lunch, I am thinking of trying it. A little break in the day sounds pretty good!
I feel that I didn’t check in with family and friends nearly as often as I should. Hopefully, I will do better in February. I did try to post positive messages on Facebook and Instagram.
I didn’t yet make time to read but I really want to. One of my favorite podcasters swears by her relaxing phone-free baths. I am thinking of trying this and making this my reading time. Wish me luck!
I checked in with my awesome guests regarding their upcoming travel, so that is always uplifting. I am so very thankful for each and every one of them!
I have updated my February Tending List. I have also done my Weekly Reset each week this month. This keeps me organized and that means the world to me.
Daily Action Items are things I am trying to develop into habits. These include: morning quiet time, encouraging someone everyday, drinking 16 glasses of water a day, flossing every night and focusing on positivity while crushing negativity. I will be trying harder next month to do these every single day.
After completing my February Tending List, I realized that nearly the entire thing is focusing on relationships, life-giving home and health. I will need to concentrate on these areas for next month.
Here are my Fave 5 things for the month of January. They are all over the place, but so am I so…consider the source!
Simple Abundance, by Sarah Ban Breathnach. This has been my morning read each day this month. I will continue using this book for morning reading throughout the year. My sister, Pam, gave it to me as a Christmas gift and I am really enjoying it.
My Gratitude Journal. I am using a simple Erin Condren lined petite journal for noting the things I am thankful for as soon as I wake up in the morning. I like thinking about all my blessings early in the day.
Dollar Tree Greeting Cards. My hubby and I decided a couple of years ago that we weren’t going to buy cards anymore. I would rather give someone an additional $5 gift than to spend that on a card that will likely be thrown away. I love that Dollar Tree has great cards for $1.00 so I can still spread the love without spending a fortune.
Helen Hall Library. If you have followed me for long you know that I love the library. When trying to research new Weight Watchers recipes, I picked up a couple of cookbooks there and I love being able to have that resource. It saves me so much money. You don’t even want to know how many hundreds (or thousands) of dollars I have donated in unutilized cookbooks over the years.
Colored Papermate Flairs. Yes, I have a self-confessed stationery fetish. I love Papermate flair pens and I bought a set of colored ones in December. I have really been enjoying using them. Making a long to-do list while using colored pens just takes away a lot of the overwhelm.
That’s it for my monthly recap for the month of January. Please comment below if you have any favorite Weight Watchers recipes, book recommendations, favorite podcasts or anything else you would like to share. Thanks in advance.
Happy February all!
