If you’ve been following my blog for a while you know that my favorite Disney snack is the Carrot Cake Cookie. Having just returned from my latest trip, I can tell you that hasn’t changed. The recipe has changed some since my first bite but it is still my favorite.
I discovered the Carrot Cake Cookie years ago during a visit to the Writer’s Stop. The Writer’s Stop was my favorite place to visit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park. It was a coffee shop/pastry shop/bookstore. It became a quick favorite. That was especially true during the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.
Every year, we would visit the Writer’s Stop for hot cocoa as part of our Osborne experience. Unfortunately, both the Writer’s Stop and the Osborne festival were closed in 2016 to make room for Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. I miss those times but, thankfully, I still get to enjoy my favorite treat from back then.
Disney has moved my cookie around a bit but I am hoping it is now and it’s permanent home at the Trolley Car Cafe (which is also known as the Starbucks location at Hollywood Studios).
The Carrot Cake Cookie is similar to a Whoopie pie, only better. Two carrot cake cookies sandwich a generous layer of cream cheese frosting. The cookies are loaded with carrots and raisins. They are moist, as they are made from a cake mix rather than a cookie batter, but they still hold up very well.
I enjoyed one of these delectable treats during my recent visit. They are rich so be prepared to share. I hope you’ll try one during your next visit. If you are on the dining plan, you can get one with only one snack credit.
