Disney Fantasy Cruise Report – Day 2

Easy Morning

We woke up at 7:00 AM on Sunday — our first full day on the Disney Fantasy. We took showers, got dressed and went to have breakfast at The Cabanas. I always take our Personal Navigator in my bag to follow the day’s happenings.

Side Note

Sunday’s Navigator had interesting tidbits about the ship. At 1115 feet, it is almost 4 football fields in length, longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower (1063 feet) and the Chrysler Building in New York (1047 feet). The Disney Fantasy whistle is quite a musical talent. It can play not only the first musical line of “When You Wish Upon A Star” but also the second line of the song. Plus, several measures of “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me),” “It’s A Small World,” “Be Our Guest,” “Hi Diddle Dee Dee (An Actor’s Life for Me),” and “A Dream is a Wish.”

Back to Day 2

The goal for this trip was rest and relaxation. In line with that goal, we headed to the Adult Only section of Deck 11 with our books and earphones in hand and grabbed our comfy chairs for some much needed RnR.

Fun Afternoon

When it was lunchtime, we headed to The Cabanas. Lunch was great! We went back to the room for a little bit and then went back to our comfy chairs. At 4:00 PM, we headed to O’Gill’s Pub for 70’s Music Trivia. We won this game during our last cruise and our prize was some DCL earphones. We were close but didn’t win this time – darn! It was a lot of fun though! After the game, we went shopping in the onboard shops. Then we went back to our room to leave our purchases before getting ready for Day 2’s show.

Relaxing Evening

The show for Day 2 was one of my favorites, Wishes! Wishes is all about being adults but staying kids at heart – my kind of show. It was a great production and I love going to the theater shows onboard. The theater itself is very pretty also, wouldn’t you agree?

After the show, we went to get a drink and sat out on deck. We just talked and relaxed until dinner. Dinner was at Animator’s Palate. It was formal night but we did not bring formalwear — just a dress for me and some slacks and a shirt for my hubby. It’s all ok on a Disney cruise. I love the decor at Animator’s Palate and watching the guests interact with Crush.

He spoke to kids and adults alike. At a later time, the fish made pictures and the guests tried to be the first to guess what they were. It was a lot of fun.

After dinner, we went around and took some pictures of the ship. A while later, we were off to the room to relax and watch a little television (which was, of course, talking about nothing else but the presidential election candidates). Luckily, there are about 200+ Disney movies you can watch for free in your room.  We set our clocks ahead one hour as instructed for the time change that would happen during our sleep hours and called it a night!

Thanks for joining me – Day 3 is coming next week.
